wax_jism has a new desktop of cuteness and hotness, i.e., 
she was going to suggest, she said, that i should make a desktop of mckay too--one livingroom can obviously never have too many high-quality images of david hewlett--but then she realised that my current desktop is just too perfect. and she's right. my current desktop is of spock from "the naked time" (tos 1x07), and is a cleaned-up high-resolution version of
it just so perfectly encapsulates... the world. the universe! also, i seem to be right at the very end of this story, literally. i just have to get the proper closing lines.
