!!! connor/murphy by [livejournal.com profile] dorkorific. rated r. a snip of an epic.

i mean, okay, i'll read anything by her cause i wuv her and she's fabulous, but this is better than usual even, AND it's connor/murphy. i haven't gone looking but i imagine that most of what's out there in the pairing isn't very good. however, the entry is friendslocked. nonetheless.

Hey...saw your post on a friendsfriends and just wanted to alert you to the [livejournal.com profile] bds_fic community. Some pretty good stuff there...the story you're rec'ing was just posted there today. :)

mm, i knew about it, but i haven't had the courage to look at it yet because, well, it's a smallish fandom and those are always perilous for the seeker of satisfying quantities of goodfic.

You are quite right about the BDS fandom. It being so small is definitely a setback as far as finding quality fiction. [livejournal.com profile] tailwind writes some good McManus fic. So does [livejournal.com profile] vignette00 but her 'Saints' works are all located in a side journal: [livejournal.com profile] gymnopedies. [livejournal.com profile] sanguinesque has a couple, though I'm not sure if either have titles -- one (http://www.livejournal.com/community/irishsinbin/1111.html#cutid1) and two (http://www.livejournal.com/users/epithette/1933.html#cutid1).

Heh, generally it would seem that the people who don't particularly claim to be part of the fandom write the best fiction for it. Something like that. If you browse the friendslist of those smaller journals, you're likely to come across something worthwhile. :)

Ah, yeah...the community has good days and bad. Today was a very, very good day, lots of really beautiful stuff was posted. Other times...well. There is cringing and fear.
I wish you luck in the quest for goodfic, rare and mysterious animal that it is...;)

thank you. ::curtsey:: good luck to you as well. i've actually been by the community because i wanted to link rave's fic, partial though it is (which means it can't go on my recs page). and i discovered it's v/ high-traffic, so no way can i friend it! but i'll definitely peruse it.
