so our new flat comes with a sauna. i'd never been in one before and so i bugged wax into turning it on. this is an electric sauna, so it's not, as i said when we were in there, "very exotic". "well, we could go outside and put up a tent and light a fire in it," wax offered. she did that on the beach once, but as it turned out it didn't work very well, and besides, the parking lot isn't the ideal place for a sauna and wouldn't be even if we weren't on a busy street.

i kind of liked it although i was also rather bored ("so then you just sit here and... talk?" i said). it gave me the same gradually-approaching feeling of wooziness as, say, a japanese bath. there were some weird individual things, though, like how my face felt hotter than my neck, and each new puff of steam made my mouth tang with the taste of the hot rocks, and the wall was hot to the touch at first, and a handful of water on my face didn't feel cool at all, and my skin felt like it wanted to peel right off, like in one giant cim-shaped piece.

i'm still feeling warm and a bit glowy, and rather cleaner than i do after a shower or bath.
