we went to see brokeback mountain (yes, it finally premiered in finland). wax declared in advance her intention to sit quietly and cry and i declared that if she did i would mock her. and then she didn't cry, but i did. right at the very end, two crystal tears! one per eye. i was actually quite impressed with heath's acting. i mean, i have read plenty of articles about this movie, and some reviews, so i knew people had already said that. but i was still surprised. i guess that's how being impressed works.
before that, i tried to find some jeans that fit (i'm down to one pair that don't have any holes at all, and they're uncomfortably snug) and was both frustrated and pissed off by the dearth. however, i haven't tried the big two-story h&m yet, so there is still hope. still, i wish i could pop home (to alabama, i mean) for half an hour and i'd be guaranteed to find a suitable pair at the local express. clothes are both overly expensive and overly hard to find here--though they're rather more fashionable at h&m than at the home mall. wax was feeling rich and bought me a pretty sweet striped pullover and a nice green scarf, though.
