(to be fair, andraé's flouncing is fabulous.) "I did tell them that Danny V. was cool, but not cool enough to win. I missed the first 20 minuts of the reunion show because I was distracted by (a) the Olympics and (b) studying. Doh! So now I keep going back to Bravo to check for reruns of it and not finding it, although I've now seen "Project Jay" twice. (Which is enough to conclude that Heidi Klum was a total bitch to him.) I love Nick coming to Santino's defense at the end, and Tim Gunn's total surprise.

i have project jay, but we went out with wax's mom today so i haven't had a chance to watch it. i soon will, though.

i was really moved by nick coming to santino's defense too. i hope they make up, really. and it reinforces my sense that nick is kind of a moody MOODY drama queen like on my mom's order of temper tantrum-throwing (ie he got really offended and really pissed off, and he's capable of holding a grudge, but he's also capable of swinging the other way and forgetting about it. or of still liking santino underneath, or something). perhaps he, too, was touched in the head by growing up in a weird environment.

also, i'm so annoyed by daniel franco. he's all, "what was with all the cutthroat, man?" to santino. look, give santino his due. he wasn't CUTTHROAT. he was obnoxious, noisy, rude, crude and socially unacceptable, and occasionally downright nasty, but he wasn't cutthroat. shady shenanigans, manipulation, and back-stabbing for gain are cutthroat. talking smack, both to people's faces and behind their backs, is just rude (and those other things).

I'm so with you. Santino was always totally upfront about the way he felt. It wasn't like it was a *surprise* that the thought he was better than everyone and deserved to win. He wasn't cutthroat, he was unappologetic. He said exactly what he thought of everyone's work to their face. Sure it was often rude, but at least it was honest. If anything, Santino's huge ego made him *less* likely to deliberately undermine anyone else, since he believed he could easily win on sheer talent (and it looks like he was right).

well, i don't know who won, and if he did, i don't feel i could swear it happened because of sheer talent--there was calculation about ratings on the parts of the producers involved. even if i always thought he deserved to stay in, i didn't get the feeling that the judges necessarily did (but maybe that was just personal antipathy doing a good job of masking their reluctant-but-honest opinions of quality underneath).

i also love how daniel, santino and chloe seemed to be completely and totally cool, even chummy or close. awwwww. and how people tried to be nice to marla. and andraé to emmett.

I agree that Santino sticking around on some of the eliminations was pushing the bounds of plausibility. For the Sasha Cohen challenge, I was pretty sure that they decided to ax Emmett over Santino based on ratings considerations because both outfits were ugly and, quite frankly, does anyone give a shit about Emmett? But I also think that the judges had a grudging respect for Santino - Heidi said that in the lingerie challenge he had the stronger point of view - and were secretly dying to see what he could do if they let him loose at Fashion Week.

i hope that isn't giving the judges too much credit. i want to believe that michael kors is able to recognise that santino is a genius even though he disapproves of or doesn't understand the aesthetic at times.

santino said she was just really drunk, but he was the one who asked on-air. how would he know if she snorted a line in the bathroom?

anyway, whatever it is, it was pretty entertaining.

daniel's little pixie cut is so girly and so cute. and he's so responsible and grown-up, being nice to marla and even defending santino! awww.
