download my favorite font, redensek, here. you can observe redensek in action in the icon, capturing the fictional words of the ever-charming china doll mr wood.

it's probable that i should have eaten more than one meal today (er, yesterday--). you think? tomor when i get up i'll eat, i promise. ::pets stomach gingerly::

in other news,

1. almost out of tissues
2. getting webcam SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

4. evil fascist beauty standards and culture oppressing me, help! can feel it. keep making more paper dolls. in goth clothes. why do only goths make paper dolls? oh well. [livejournal.com profile] wax_jism, we had it all wrong. goth skirts are supposed to be tattered! in both layers, thank you.

le dream!

dreamed i was with my favorite cousin and her mother, my favorite aunt, in kansas where all my extended family live, and my other aunt, tina, had given us a key to her house and the job of sneaking in the back door, which was a secret entrance now, around in her garden, which led directly to the basement. so we went there, and spent a long time trying to get in, and somehow the fact that her house was very messy on the inside caused it to be horribly horribly hot on the outside. like, eventually cherrie (aunt) figured it out, while i sat there fanning myself with aubry, and as i was sitting there i happened to discover a slip of offical State of Kansas paper from the early 1990s and one of my first visits to kansas without my parents, signed by a highway patrolman or something, which said that it was okay for [livejournal.com profile] cara_chapel (yeah, you lived in kansas in the dream) to drive me the long and perilous way to the airport. needless to say i was shocked to discover that i had somehow known cara before i had really known her. meanwhile, cherrie figured out how to get in and we managed it, and there was sort of an area full of greeting cards which had been saved over the years, on the kind of rack you find them in in stores, and piles of clothes on some old furniture (this is nothing like tina's house, which is always neat as a pin), and on the other side of the room, an old sink which, when aubry turned it on, produced nothing but hot rusty water which sprayed literally all the way across the basement. we finally retrieved what we had been sent for and as we left via the front door cherrie laughed in relief and said she would just mention to tina, next time, not to leave the area around her door so untidy, for one thing so it wouldn't be so hot and another so that the door would open.

wax: I just wish all bad writers would get over their obsession with eye colour.
wax: people's eye colour doesn't change with mood! it changes with ambient light!
wax: hmpf.
cim thing: OH MY GOD. why didn't you warn me! you're too cute!
wax: er.
cim thing: and all your journal entries today!

i have the sneaking suspicion certainty that i did not do my reading for spanish today.

tralala.

that, folks, is my beloved sensei and ex-advisor, the most adorable little sensei ever. ::sniff::

yeah, so i got done a tad late with the shrink and i was hungry, so i decided to squander this hour eating and studying the bits of logic for the lecture i'm missing. had chicken sandwich, tortellini soup with buttered bread, and raisin bran with sunflower seeds on it (mmmmmmm!). am now nursing mint tea and snuffling pathetically. class in 50 minutes, goddammit. you know what they say about tempus.

12.30 class was cancelled, but after croaking my name for the department secretary twice and finally croak/spelling it i got my paper back with an 'a' on it. thus, errands! deposited a check, bought some family presents, two boxes of tissues, a bottle of cough syrup and a bag of cough drops. ::cuddles cough syrup::

it has been a good day despite the cold outside. and i ate a large lunch, which my stomach is less than certain about, but ah well. it was some nutrition.

i want them. want. waaaaaaaaant. ::whimper::

j crew (clothing amherst students who couldn't afford prada since some time ago!), $168. best part? my most expensive purchase on the christmas spree last year? knee high black leather boots--with 2.5" heels. ::falls over:: ::twitches::

...and depression strikes. yeah. hi. ::mope:: i think i'll get into the rest of my layers and go to le dining hall for dinner.

webcam delivered to amherst this morning. i'm going to get it at the p.o. tomorrow while i'm NOT WORKING. bleh.

::sneezes, sending germs everywhere::

::works in the dishroom::

otoh, have writing to do. i did the preparatory revision; then i said the magic words 'supper' and off loped my waxlet to bed, as she's got work tomorrow morning, and claire was already at math. (everyone say 'ew' all together... yes, like that.) so i think i'll put my tiara and my polartec and my hiking boots on and hike on over to the dining hall as i said i'd do before. ahhhh, but this time i really mean it.

in other news, it's not possible to hack all my mom's online accounts! she stopped using the same password for everything. wonder what it is--'ermintrude,' perhaps. (no, kidding. but would be a good password, sounds like something someone in her family might have been named. 'louise'? who the fuck are they kidding?)

i fixed up my mommy's livejournal: [livejournal.com profile] indolentdragon. with the normal refried paper layout and my old menolly icon, but it looks quite nice. [livejournal.com profile] cuddlepint (the baby sister) made it for her, and made up a password for it which my (adorable!) mommy was incapable of remembering, which, it turns out, was why she was not updating. i changed the password for her, added myself and [livejournal.com profile] ninglor to her friends list (because adrienne added her), etc, etc.

oh!

spent awhile making about twenty icons of arwen and the ftp program (server? anyway) is being a real bitch, so no uploading to [livejournal.com profile] iconsensual and [livejournal.com profile] lotricons yet. can't help thinking it is liv-associated bad luck. but dammit, some of the icons were just artwork, and i think she's a character who isn't given her just desserts by tolkien. i want to give aragorn enough credit to believe he wouldn't fall for an empty shell. she's a princess, a magic-wielder, a legend, thousands of years old, and wise. how it must have hurt her to fall in love with a mortal in the first place! and it must be an interesting story. have faint urge to reclaim her. hmpf.
cimorene: cartoony drawing of a woman's head in profile giving dubious side-eye (Default)
1. no more flashing icons, please.
2. ARGH. ::kicks ftp:: WORK, DAMN YOU.
3. no, i am not particularly fond of pyramids. although sometimes the traffic in memphis is quite humorous and you can see that one sort of from the corner of your eye? not at all like the traffic in chattanooga used to be but still pretty bad. ::yawn stretch::
4. SUCK. suck, suck, suck.
