my moronic parents don't want a pirate microsoft word because after i installed winxp on my laptop my modem didn't work.

they can't grasp no matter how few syllables the words have that (a) this was the fault of gateway and not of windows and (b) the problem was because winxp was too new/the comp too old so that no compatible software existed, NOT because it was a 'pirate copy.'

what do they think, that pirate copies come with special Modem Disablers? morons. this computer was built FOR windows xp and came with xp home BUILT IN. i propose an update from xp home to xp pro, but even that is not necessary. office xp would run perfectly without it and it's not like they're intelligent enough to program an answering machine, let alone set up a home network.

revised lyrics for nsync's 'celebrity' that amuse me way more than they probably should.

you need to stop running games
sayin' it ain't about my thang
'cause you know of things [insert thrust, natch] weren't this way
you'd be gone a long time ago

what i spent all day doing: updating the formatting for my first evah venture into fanfic.

i actually came upon slash via nsync het, and from there via nsyncgrrl. wax was a bit giggly and horrified but mostly astonished i was able to find the non-sucky parts and stop sucking myself [edit: stop sucking myself! ahaha! hahahahahah! ha hahahaahaaaahhahaha!] so rapidly.

well, when you like nsync's music (i liked it grudgingly but i liked it. i'm a slave to catchiness. and you know what? catchiness is cool. so pththt.), and you listen to pop radio and stuff, nsync het is certainly EASIER to find on the internet, in my defense. at any rate, i'm reluctant to take the story down despite rampant sucking because i feel this would be dishonest! anyone is free to go read it and point and laugh if they want to. i warn you that it's 400+ pages (ms word pages, that is). however, if you just wanted to point and laugh a little i find it highly unlikely that you would become hooked and/or unable to put it down, because really, it's just not that good.

it took me years to write, and the beginning i wrote before my first nslash. i'd call it for all practical purposes my first serious venture into writing. then, later, i got somewhat better (as the end was written immediately pre-waiting for courage (frodo/sam) and post-arkansas and implicit (nslash)). but by then i was so sick of the goddamned thing that the last chapters are, besides annoying and wearying, conducted at top speed, and it's pretty clear that i'm no happier with it than is the hypothetical discerning (ha! ha!) reader.

well, so... it may have some curiousity value. my parents maintain that it's slightly less than half nsync fanfic and slightly more than half a sort of extended ode to japan, which point of view has some merit, so that if you really love japan and can wade through the naive romance those parts might be interesting or entertaining. really i'd rather people didn't read it (or for that matter my early nslash) because it will give you an unnecessarily low opinion of my ability.

however, i am pretty proud of the layout. and i'd better be after spending that long on it. (before it was baby blue on royal blue times new roman. yeah, i THOUGHT you'd react that way.)

the last entry discusses the het novel of doom. near the end of it the ofc/protagonist gets into slash, and lost and embedded in it are some snippets of han/luke i wrote while under the intoxicating influence of the hynotizing [livejournal.com profile] cara_loup. the fact that i skipped around and only wrote the fun parts should probably make it MORE fun to read, and not less.

about three pages or so total.

--he met the probing, unexpected intensity of Luke's eyes, much closer than he'd--

Now what was showing on his face?

i shouldn't've eaten dinner. i am not bloated or fat, but i certainly feel it. ow. also, slightly ill.

right after eating i couldn't think of anything to do but lie down gingerly on my back and sleep for two hours. for your information, waxlet, the dreams were less nightmarey and weird than usual. so ... hah.

He lay there listening to the steady sound of Fraser's breathing for a moment before turning onto his side, automatically reaching out, then he hesitated. He'd managed not to wake him up so far, he probably shouldn't push it. He pulled his hand back and tucked it under his pillow instead. He'd have time to get in some touching in the morning.

oh, give me a break. not even in the worst fit of jealousy would he resist the urge to cuddle!

but i like it anyway.

shit, i really underestimated her. a tolerable established relationship fic? no WAY. but baby, you'd better believe it.
