there's a trusty husky maiden in the arctic

went back to the playa today. three days of rain finally cleared up and it was very sunny. i flirted with a beautiful great blue heron for a bit while perry obliviously sniffed at the mud. on the minus side in the past two days he's brought our total of Dead Fish Found up to eight (from four).

turned in applications at hobby lobby and the supermarket and got an application for the latter on monday. avocados are so damnably expensive here that i had to make do with artichoke dip today. i'm flat broke again and there's no pepper in the house, let alone tomatoes or avocados.

but i've discovered (invented?) some really super fresh, quick, single-serving recipes.
