"esquire" lays the smackdown on creationism, an article from esquire. long and beautifully written, striking many chords and awakening lots of pent-up rage and frustration.
12 Nov 2005
exam yesterday
12 Nov 2005 08:20 pmi think the exam went well. i also finally got around to going to hus lindman, where the statsvetenskap department lives, and checking the bulletin board to see what i made on my original poli sci exam about four weeks ago. and i made... a 5 (out of five), or 'outstanding', again. which is gratifying and genuinely very surprising given that i wrote the essay in swedish. i'm starting to get that the amount of studying and preparation i do is more than adequate here at this university for this level. and that they don't take off lots of points for non-native-speaker mistakes.
then i stayed up very, very late reading about t.e. lawrence and then i slept until 4 pm.
i'm going to read some pratchett, eat some comfort food, recap the last episode of season 1 of star trek, and do a bit of writing on my sga harlequin this weekend.
if i don't do the last of those, i hope i can count on people who love me to come up to finland and break my pinky fingers, drip lemon juice in my hangnails, and make threatening movements towards my favourite green suede purse--that kind of thing.
