because of my teacher evidently not realizing there is a difference between assigning you to pick a small piece of folklore and interpret it vs. assigning you to read 20 or even 100+ pages of it on the same subject and "summarise", i spent upwards of twelve hours out of the last twenty-four doing homework whose end result is not even 2½ double-spaced pages. i also haven't finished my finnish exercises and i only slept 3 hours. i still don't regret all the time i spent writing last week, though.
that's two days in a row i was up until four am, mind, and it was much more pleasant when i was writing tezuryo than when i was puzzling over the partitive case in finnish (not that the partitive isn't also kind of fun, and also, now i can say "i cannot live without you" in finnish, which is hilarious because finnish is incapable of romance so no matter what you say, even that, you sound faintly bored; and "to play tennis", which is hilarious because EVERYTHING IS ABOUT PRINCE OF TENNIS in my life. obviously. EVERYTHING).
