Dear writers:

If you aren't going to have something thoroughly betaed, why not at least invest in a moment's calmness and carefully check the grammar and punctuation of the first sentence? If necessary, wait for the alcohol to leave your bloodstream and drink some coffee before doing it yourself a few times. The internet won't go away if you don't post immediately! It's more than worth it. Just imagine what a difference it makes in your first impression if you don't have egregious grammar, spelling, or punctuation mistakes within the first sentence!

Midsummer at Ängisbacka

The sauna and greenhouse at wax's mom's cottage, with a young apple tree in front of them and the vegetable garden off to the right, seen from the outdoor table and chairs sheltered in the curve of the hill below the cottage.

We spent the day at the cottage and Perry wasted yet another chance to prove that he wouldn't run out into the street if given half a chance. His country outfit is a rope about 20' long knotted to his collar which he drags everywhere, making it easier to catch him at any point by stepping on it, or to tie him to any handy tree. He hates being tied up if I'm outside his reach, but the completely insubstantial barrier of the mosquito net curtain in the front door is enough to keep him in or out. I guess it's about psychology, or something. (Also, my going inside is enough to effectively tie him to the stretch of ground in front of the door: he has to stare at the doorway constantly until invited inside. Curiously, though, if we're both inside and someone else opens the curtain to let him go out, he'll make a break for it.)
