Tuesday morning

My latest epic writing project keeps requiring me to research things like Romanian names and weather patterns and geography and the medieval varieties of lunar calendar. Wax says that I have made my lunar bed and now I have to lie in it, but sometimes it seems a little surreal and hilarious, is all. Political map of Romania / The Gaulish Coligny calendar (2) (3)

My sister's dog is making great progress in learning to fetch things by name and drop them into your hand, and ideally she will be able to help out my wheelchair-bound dad eventually. Boy, is she a lot smarter than Perry. She is half labrador, which is the breed they use for assistance dogs for spinal cord patients. (The black lab they brought to the rehab hospital for a demonstration could, like, operate a washing machine. It was pretty rad.) She is a bit less fetch-oriented than the average lab, being half Chow, but she's also rather less hyper, which is nice. She's not as pretty as Perry, though.
