3 Feb 2010 12:34 pmFirst lecture back, and it was about learning styles and Gardner's multiple intelligences. While I 100% support anyone working in education having to learn about this, I just wish we'd been given the schedule ahead of time. It would have saved me a few hours of stifling yawns.
When I say that multiple intelligences is one of my mother's hobby horses to the extent that when she was getting her MA in education when I was in middle school I already knew what they were, and that when we covered them in AP/IB Psychology in high school I learned nothing new about them at all despite them taking up a good third of a chapter in the college-level textbook, well.
I didn't take any notes last night. Instead I filled four pages in my composition book with drawings of a skeleton, my niece, a disembodied Vulcan ear, a burlesque science fiction outfit, a voluptuous woman in Victorian menswear, a dragonfly, two disembodied heads, Han Solo and Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia with their arms linked, and Karl Urban in the pose of Da Vinci's circle musculature dude.
