Social hacking : bus
12 Aug 2021 08:27 amThe current system for local busses uses QR codes, and just like in the past with the QR codes for Turku mobile tickets, in practice the scanners don't work a lot.
In the past, in Turku, it was nearly impossible to to position the phone right so it could be read.
But now as far as I can tell here in Pargas about 2 in 3 readers either don't work at all or don't work reliably. So you'd stand a good chance of a free bus trip just by holding your phone up to the reader and the driver would just say "It doesn't work, just sit down."
Ideally public transport would simply be free, but I guess this is a step in the right direction.
