After a determined huge amount of knitting the black tweed oversized Aran cardigan that I saw in my mind's eye, it's finally blocking! It's only damp now, but I'll let it dry completely before I sew on the buttons and weave in the ends tomorrow.

Wax has gone back and forth between working on the cardigan for our niece and the Aran pullover for me, so she hasn't finished either one. She's working on the second sleeve of the one, with the button bands and pockets still to do, and the other one is a tube that goes up to the armpits and she's in the process of knitting the top part with gaps for the armholes. She does actually knit significantly faster than I do.
When she DOES finish the sweater for me, though, I'll have the sweater I've had on my wish list the longest (the pullover she's making me) and maybe the third longest (the cardigan I've just finished)! Also soon I will have to reorganize the plastic bins that I keep my sweaters in or they won't all fit. Also she still is on schedule to finish the cardigan before the niece's birthday, so that's fine.
I'm trying to decide what to knit next. I have several very particular requirements that rule out most of the list of sweaters I want, however, because I want it to be a seamless pullover knitted in one yarn and finished relatively quickly. I need a win after all the time I've spent on sweaters that didn't get finished! I'm currently going back and forth between whether I want to knit something in dk-weight merino because it's so fun to work with or if I want to knit Sweater No. 18 by My Favourite Things in aran-weight alpaca blend.
