I keep getting notification alerts on my phone - "New from GK Chesterton!" - when someone reuploads a GK Chesterton work to Google Books, which is rather frequent given that he's long dead.

Although I guess that's why the production time is so low, since they can just reformat it and slap a cover on with no concern for copyright.

Going by the quality of the cover designs, they can't be putting enough effort into the formatting to merit much profit.

I didn't mention before, but Wax actually contacted the locksmith! So we've taken the first step on the road to fixing the front door! (I'm excited because the eventual new door will be freshly painted and GREEN).

The first step with the roof is to figure out whom to contact for quotes, so our best idea is for me to ask people who might have recommendations - local homeowners, or my boss's husband the industrial contractor - if they have any recs (because I'm the public-facing secretary of a local volunteer org so I meet extroverts and people who know everyone). I haven't done that yet, but it's only been a few days since we decided that I ought to.
