Date: 24 Jul 2006 07:38 pm (UTC)This reads like a lost episode of the show, so much. Everything about it, the tone, the characters, the relationships, all of it could be canon. All of it should be canon. ;)
I have individual praise for practically every character, but basically, the Momo/Kaidoh here is so rich and true to them that I have to resort to flailing and making incoherent sounds, because I LOVE THEM SO. Your Fuji is always one of the most-loyal-to-canon Fujis I've seen (and at this point I realize this is probably my first feedback on your PoT fic, but I've read and loved everything). Eiji and Oishi, OH MY GOD. They are married, which we all knew. The epic love between Ryoma and Tezuka. ♥ Tezuka, who is so incredibly smooth but vulnerable here (Tezuka and his thermos! ♥), the way he thinks he's in control, but how could he ever be with Ryoma; and Ryoma, oh, Ryoma. I adore him. Tezuka-related expressions! (And yes, it scared me that even Fuji wouldn't understand Ryoma. Though I choose to believe that he does, because he's Fuji.) Inui/notebook! Um, I mean, Inui/Yanagi. ;)
Just. asdfghjhjlö!!11 You write everyone in such a way that the reader understands what they're feeling, why they're doing the things they do. You make me fall in love with one character after another, and I thought I already loved them all as much as I could. Reading this was like devouring sentence after sentence until you realize you're out of breath and dizzy and everything is perfect and you don't want it to end but of course it has to. And yet, that's not a bad thing at all.
And finally, Kikumaru shrieks and clings to Fuji in terror, smearing the faint dusting of glitter from his arms and cheeks on Fuji's shirt? I want a picture of this. :D
