bad caffeine trip
23 Apr 2007 03:50 pmYesterday afternoon I drank half a cup of coffee made in the French press that we bought for the use of our coffee-drinking buds. Well, I mixed it with a bunch of icecream, but it was still mostly liquid, so I guess 'drink' is approximately the right verb. Anyway, it's not like I never have caffeine. I drink tea like anything and I make weak instant cappuccino a few times a week and every month or so I'll buy café mochas at a coffee shop and usually caffeine makes me very jittery, very bouncy, kind of hyper and spazzy. But that's it.
But YESTERDAY. Yesterday. Okay, it would be an exaggeration to say it was really like a bad trip, from what I understand of bad trips. But it was really bad. Wax compared the reaction to speed, but again, I don't think she's seen that first-hand. I couldn't sleep for more than twelve hours, I was shaky and clingy and horribly anxious and whimpering and on the verge of tears and then I started laughing and couldn't stop and got hysterical (over paper cranes. yes. I don't know). Just, seriously, what? Is French press coffee super extra mega evil, or something? I don't know, but I do know I'll probably never drink coffee again. My stomach was still upset when I woke up and I've felt like shit all day, too.
