astrocigarettes, here. This is the beginning of a really awesome, engrossing and commanding magical realism AU which promises to be Mikey/Frank and Mikey/Ray, if she finishes it. Alas, it is a wip and hasn't been updated in a month, but I have hopes.

Her summary is "Michael Way is the most brilliant photographer the world has ever seen. Everyone knows the price of having him take their picture, and everyone is willing to pay it—everyone except himself." - but it starts when Mikey and Gerard are both still in high school, before Gerard leaves for art school. (Actually if you count the mini-introductory scene, it starts when he's a small child.) It's all Mikey's POV, and the character portraits of Mikey and Gerard especially, but Ray and Frank too (those more brief), are intelligent and exciting and fascinating. The narration is transparent but somehow unique and memorable nonetheless.

I will be so disappointed if it's never finished!
