view from a castle in the air

And I want to catch up on s1 of Heroes - I watched about half of it, in bits & pieces, while reading badfic last winter. Anyone around who wants to join in the marathon?
Plus I worked a full day yesterday, like, honestly. I went to town at three and caught the bus at 4:55 out to Hirvensalo. I got to Brother Windows's place just after 5 and I didn't get home until midnight: SEVEN HOURS of the noobs being as fussy and awful as they've ever been. They were actually good at the beginning, but come food time... Leon drank two bottles too fast, got a belly full of bubbles, barfed it all back up and whined and fussed for an hour before demanding a last serving of breastmilk. Ciara screamed through the first 15 minutes of Swedish Idol while Tina was going, "Baby, calm down! The breast is in your mouth, and you're hungry, so you have to suck!" (When she's starving, she gets too pissed off to drink and starts spitting out whatever you give her.) Loke is constipated and has been fed prunes, which he was barfing up in purple and brown blobs all night long. For the last two hours or so they all refused to go to bed and my right arm got so numb that I had to stop patting and bouncing when the baby on my shoulder was actually still fussing and I knew it would make him start shrieking immediately. OH MY GOD.
I finally got a refillable scannable bus card, plus two rolls of really gorgeous wrapping paper, and then, in the last 5 minutes on my way out of H&M, I stopped in the little girls' department and discovered sweaters on sale for 8 bucks, and picked up the last one of THESE. It was a 170 so I bought it without trying it on, and as you can see, it is cuddly and perfect. Wool, the perfect weight, and not too itchy. I'm still excited about that.
And I've got to go into town for foooooood today and my cheerleader is not-so-mysteriously MIA, so who knows when I can write any more werewolves or Bob/Ray. *Consoles self with retail therapy*

Date: 20 Oct 2007 04:22 pm (UTC)all the stories of you and the noobs have me going :o regardless of whether they were dashing and adorable or whether, like this time around, they were terribly fussy. babies! amazing!
the sweater is really cute. :D
i think the dumbledore thing is both amazing and also a little silly. it's one thing for real people to come out after the fact--the fact being whatever thing they were best known for, like lance bass--and another thing for an author to be like, "well, i intended for the character to be gay!" yeah, well. under what circumstance would we really have read dumbledore either way? unless there's some cut scene where dumbledore explained the birds and the bees and said, "and sometimes the bees like other bees" or something.
