Project Runway Canada is so much cooler than the American one!
It's exchanged Heidi Klum for Iman. Iman! Also, it's in Toronto. And the music is better. The production values don't seem really awful in comparison either (like Project Catwalk, for example) - it looks about the same.
Of course, there's no Tim Gunn, and he's the greatest thing about PR, but in the last season there was some work sometimes making myself put up with the rest for his sake. \o/

It's still catchy. We all have our own musical taste, of course. My feelings won't be hurt if everyone in the world doesn't agree with me.

And the title scenes? No vise crack quotes from the contestants, just misty glamour shots of them fitting a piece of fabric on a mannequin, like it would be vital to present the contestant as pretty as possible for the viewers. The title song and shots are just way too cheesy, and in a bad way at that.
And about the needing thing. You got my point wrong. I think that the show requires ("needs") campiness that Iman doesn't possess. She is too serious. She just doesn't do camp. I gringe every time I hear her signature line, "you just don't have what it takes" or something similar to that. That isn't in the same level of "auf Wiedersen" or "Fashion has no mercy".
On the other hand, I like the contestants and the challenges. Hell, I love all and every project there is. I'm even pondering on downloading the german version, even when I don't understand a word of German.

(Err, hello! I just read your Bob/Ray story and came to see if you'd written anything else, and then got distracted by talk of reality TV, my other favourite thing.)

Date: 19 Nov 2007 05:08 pm (UTC)As for Project Runway... er... yes, really? I really don't find it boring and I really like Iman better than Heidi and I really like the format of the show even without Tim and I really don't like Nina Garcia. All of these are of course matters of personal preference. I don't personally have any problem with Project Catwalk, either, which also has a "fake Tim Gunn" acting as a mentor since in all cases they're going for a domestic designer.
