i'll probably post some annotated screencap scenes from "the man-trap" (1x06) and "the naked time" (1x07) tomorrow, so i decided to post some sequences without the annotation from 1x08 today.  the clips i want don't need dialogue, i think.  25 in all.

glare at the perpetrator.

kirk glared at the guy and demanded that he fix spock's broken legs.  ("why?" "because you need me to run this ship, and i need him.")  and it worked.

Ugh, do not like the look of Kirk's knickers, although his VPL is sweet, as is the strained expression on his face when he's clearly trying to flex his six pack.

no, i know, the pants are hideous. i felt the horrid pantyline and the knickers should be documented for posterity.

he's sucking in his stomach all the time. no wonder he gets those cramps later.

Traumatizing tights were a recurring motif in my childhood. Kirk's horrific scarlet number. Frank Gorshin as the Riddler. Frank Gorshin as Bele, or possibly Lokai. Jim West's famously painted-on trousers were surfer bags by comparison.

I like Charlie's upset STOP TOUCHING ME! expression when Kirk has him pinned.

charlie's upset faces were generally pretty good. and in the wrestling thing, kirk's confused face because he's just trying to teach Wholsome Manly YMCA-style Wrestling and charlie's all ">:O AUGH AUGH GET HIM OFF ME GET HIM OFF ME".
