I'm looking more for a particular brand of angst than smut, actually. But I'll give your recommendations a try in any case, thanks! I've read some of Varoneeka's Picard/Q stories, and loved them, in a guilty-pleasure kind of way, even though they're pretty cheesy and, I suspect, horribly out of character. (I don't care about that so much with TNG, as I've never watched it, anyway.)
