Date: 9 Apr 2008 11:13 pm (UTC)It especially skeeves me because it's usually being done to female characters, and it feeds off of the whole (ugly) societal stereotype that says if a woman doesn't look like a swimsuit model, she's unattractive.
I can't decide if it creeps me out more to see a male or a female author do it, but I've seen both. Ugh. DO NOT WANT.
