  1. I just spent about 12 hours trying to install an application dock to replace the external taskbar because 1) my tasks never fit on the top kicker because I like to have a very large quicklaunch and system try, and 2) something's wrong with something which causes the transparency in my external taskbar to break and it was driving me nuts. In the end, I ended up with SuperKaramba for its Arok, a widget that looks like an iPod touch and can control my music player (and other stuff too, but you have to navigate within it to do that, which is cool on an actual iPod but not so much on a desktop widget); and the Screenlets daemon for a sidedock displaying my IP address, Gmail notifications, sticky notes, and a calendar. But none of these can function as a taskbar, and in the end I just turned the external one back on with auto-hiding and auto-resizing.

  2. EMP is the only non-CDON Finnish source of Emilie Autumn, which is backordered yet again at CDON. And they also have lots of amusing band merch and Scene Kid Clothes, like for example... okay, in this everyone-turns-into-girls story I wrote last year, a girlfriend makes a crack: "Where did you think I shopped, Hot Topic Secret?" Well... that was before I knew that Hot Topic Secret does in fact exist, and it's called Vive Maria. LOL FOREVER. And also, omg, can I plz has this dress and this bag? *orders the catalog*

out of curiosity, how is Björk pronounced? i don't have much familiarity with how the umlaut (or, in fact, any accent marks or diacriticals) changes the sound of a vowel. something closer to an "er"? (judy and mary have a song called "mottö", and i do remember a clip from a tv show where they were asked to pronounce it, ahaha.)

Yes, I suppose that is probably the closest English phoneme - I can't think of any better words to demonstrate with. It's not a vowel that occurs in standard US English dialects, but it's close to the sound/place in the mouth of an 'er' as in 'winner' or something like that.

I don't know that ö is pronounced the same everywhere, though. Probably not. It's the same in the Scandinavian tongues though.
