Wax's brother wanted CK boxers for Christmas, so we decided to get some in addition to his other present because other people were getting two, and. Seriously. They were 22 euros! That's ridiculous! And stupid! And okay, it's not like I approve of CK or would ever buy them otherwise anyway, but seriously? My favourite underpants run 5 for $20 USD at Victoria's Secret! I'm sure CK makes stupid overpriced underwear for women, too, but like. Why do people want it? Ugh. Well at least that explains why he had to ask for them as a present.

22€ doesn't sound that bad... but maybe I'm influenced by high finnish prices? Like, it's totally natural to pay something like 8 € for a nice pair of panties in a chain store like Lindex, so compared to that, 22€ for CK isn't bad. I thought that they would go higher.

You're calculating in the brand markup as natural, but I'm just complaining about it as a phenomenon. They're utterly ordinary cotton boxers with an elastic waist and button fly. Not that I'd be surprised if they were higher - I'm sure they do make ones that cost more, but their basic ones are the popular ones I suppose, since they're such a "casual chic" label. I'm generally less surprised by markup on women's underwear. Of course you can buy more "dressy" panties from Victoria's Secret - their glamour line is about 18 a pop and I'm sure they have worse - it's just that I consider well-fitting, colourful cotton nicer.

Well yes, the phenomenon sucks, but I got to admire how such a thing has been developed as a brand phenomenon. I mean, *mens underwear*. It's so much harder to make men buy luxury items that aren't like, tyre rims. One can buy a luxury bag and brag with it, but no-one will actually see your underwear than your spouse/sex partner, and I wouldn't really like a sex partner who would appreciate my underwear more than me naked or something. Or maybe the underwear can be seen if you wear low cut jeans, but presenting your underwear in public? For both men and women, I see that pretty tasteless.

Wow. I was appalled at the price when I was equating it to around $22, then I realised it would be more like $30+. D:

I buy Hanes underwear that are like $5 for six or seven pairs at Target. I can't even imagine the point of pricey underwear, especially since it's men's, so it's not even super fancy sexy lace or whatever women's might be.
