captain certainly looks young! (http://syndicated.livejournal.com/johnnyswebs/42141.html) which is good for nino, because otherwise people would think he was a pedophile, what with being married to the eleven-year-old nino. omg, nino. XD
omg, a medieval arranged marriage--nino's parents are poor nobles or something like that, with a title and land but not much else, so they arrange for him to marry into the ohno family; ohno satoshi, the heir, is known for being eccentric, somewhat reclusive, but is also very wealthy.
so eleven-year-old nino meets ohno as ohno's bride, but ohno really just thinks of him as a little brother, you know!
and six or eight years pass with nino as a part of the ohno family, living in the ohno house--and actually, ohno and nino are quite close, nino prides himself on being one of the few people who understands ohno (well, most of the time, anyway).
meanwhile, other people have noticed that nino has grown into this attractive young man!
nino finds it flattering, but as much as he thinks ohno wouldn't care, he always refuses any offers for illicit nighttime activities!
it only starts to bother nino when someone--probably jun, that slut!--goes from propositioning nino to propositioning ohno. then, then nino starts to get possessive and jealous, and he thinks at first that it's because he's feeling slighted--i mean, ohno did refuse jun, after all.
etc etc--at some point, nino realizes that he really just wants ohno to start thinking of him as his husband (aside: assuming there would be medieval gay arranged marriages, wouldn't they both still be the husband?) in the ways that really count: romantically & sexually, because nino realizes that he loves ohno, really loves him!
so then he would haveto convince ohno as well, which would be possibly difficult up to the point when suddenly it's like ohno just blinks and has the epiphany that yeah, nino saying this really does mean i can allow myself to think of him this way, when all that time he's been thinking of nino as this little-brother figure!
ahem. apparently that struck a chord. XD anyway. um. i'll be over--here. yeeeeah.
♥ yessssssssssssssss. but not seven or eight years! that's too long. i mean i am sure nino would figure it out before age eighteen!
in this au, if there's only one child, he or she is expected to produce an heir regardless of potential gayness (which doesn't mean no gay marriage, but it means they have to have a concubine or adopt - ahhaha a medieval society with legal adoption! that could be quite funny), but ohno has an older sister who's already married so it's not a big deal - his sister's offspring will be his heirs.
when nino was slightly nervous (though hiding it well) when he came there he was soothed by ohno, who was so nice and always took care of him! and didn't leave him alone at night. and he was never alone. like slumber parties, kind of.
and when he was about thirteen he started taking over being in charge of the household and helping with the business manager and all the responsibilities of the heir already because he likes bossing people around. also he became a truly awesome cook because he hung out with ohno's chef sometimes.
1. concubines ahahahah YES. because the marriage would be--generally for the heirs it is considered a political thing first, and a love thing second, if at all.
2. the whole ohno family will live in one happy big castle together, yes? :D! on the big ohno grounds. yesssss.
3. when nino was slightly nervous (though hiding it well) when he came there he was soothed by ohno, who was so nice and always took care of him! and didn't leave him alone at night. and he was never alone. like slumber parties, kind of.
aw, yeah. ♥ totally.
does nino have his own bed, like, they share a room but different beds? or does he have his own room but it's expected that they sleep together? or was it like--nino had grown up knowing he would have to marry someone. he and ohno had met exactly once before they were married with much ceremony and hullabaloo, and even then ohno had been, well, very ohno: very quiet at his parents' side, a bit distracted, but also very easy to sit with, if that makes sense. nino didn't like the idea of leaving his home and family, but even at eleven he felt a sense of responsibility.
however, once they were actually married and they were in the castle and expected to go to sleep--ohno was just ohno, very comfortable to be around and unassuming, and he grinned when he called nino his husband, and said, "tomorrow i'll show you around," and nino, feeling bratty, said, "i didn't think you'd just use moonlight to lead me about," and ohno smiled and said, "let's go to bed," and um, yeah. i don't know how to describe it, but somehow it would be totally fine.
i wonder what ohno would be thinking this whole time.
omg, head-of-household!thirteen!nino. ♥ totally perfect! you're thinking that around then is when nino would be figuring out that maybe, yanno, maybe he wasn't just "okay" with this whole situation, maybe he did in fact totally feel a lot of fondness for ohno?
ohno was kind of like... omg, a kid? but then he decided nino was a cool kid so it was okay. and he wasn't that little, anyway.
and i guess maybe... one bedroom because nino's young and he didn't really want to be alone at night? with two beds, probably, but when nino had nightmares he'd crawl into ohno's bed sometimes, and even when that stopped they'd both sleep in ohno's bed just, like, occasionally - because they fell asleep talking or reading. maybe ohno can't really read, not really, but nino can, and ohno is supposed to speak french (or should we make that chinese, i don't know, how au is this - do we pretend they're in england or just. anyway) but he's kind of bad, well, at his studies; and ohno likes to have nino read to him and then nino, who has more free time and is like smart, and bored, gets to hang with ohno's tutor and actually learns french and then he starts reading books in french to ohno and translating as he goes, sometimes. although whenever his throat gets sore he has no compunctions about stopping and whining and demanding milk and honey from the kitchen.
i guess the sister has her own castle though? because otherwise i think she would be in charge of the household stuff - even if nino should get precedence, they wouldn't give it to him at age thirteen if the sister was there, who had actually grown up there and all.
but it'd be normal to have more than one manor house on the grounds so that should be fine.
and i didn't necessarily mean he'd figure it out at thirteen but maybe that's like... you know, the first beginning of what later becomes an inkling. he likes it there, he likes ohno's family and he realises he wouldn't even feel at home with his own family anymore, really.
