cimorene: cartoony drawing of a woman's head in profile giving dubious side-eye (smug)

So much music this month! Besides the new Cobra Starship and Mandy Moore albums (this is the second country-folk album from MM, and I'm enjoying it, although I haven't listened to it enough to make a final judgement yet) and the new Paramore coming out later this month, I discovered a gem by surfing the "Neighborhood" at www.last.fm - a silly name for a page that lists users with statistically similar musical taste. A good way to get recommendations, anyway.

Said gem is a Canadian cyberpunk girl, Ayria, whose music supposedly sticks 80s glam influences into industrial/synthpop. Seems like a fair description, although my familiarity with glam is a little weak. I can definitely vouch for the electronica and industrial elements, and the mixture is very much to my taste. Also, she's as cute as a button, although it's a little funny the way she looks like "Come on Over Baby"-era Christina (right down to the platinum-black-pink streaked hair).

I've been enjoying her for the past week, and then I discovered that a couple of my favorite Korean pop singers - 채연 (Chae Yeon) and 바다 (Bada) - have new albums, too (singles on YouTube: Shake and Yes I'm in Love). I never know what to listen to first!
