So, I saw effex doing this desktop meme and I am fascinated with people's desktop screenshots. I could read nothing but this meme for a couple of hours without getting bored probably.

I used to use six desktops, all with different wallpapers, when I was using KDE3, but since the switch to Linux Mint which uses the same image for all the desktops by default, I've found myself pretty happy to retreat to this.

My desktop is one of the spiders I linked to in my spider post. The orange one. Plus the xfce taskbar with Firefox, Pidgin, and Amarok on it, and way too many windows open.

How did you manage six desktops? I can see two or three, but I'd get lost if I had more than that.

Well, I like to have tons of applications all open at once and all spread out (this screenshot was taken when I hadn't been awake for very long), and there's a visual desktop switcher in the taskbar, so I never had a problem finding the one I wanted.

1. KDE-look.org, Gnome-look.org, linuxmint-art.org, and the Wikipedia featured pictures section. I don't really remember which that one came from though.

how do you like Mint? I'm on Ubuntu and eeeBuntu now, but I just heard about Mint and I am vaguely interested.

I love it! It works out of the box and is very pretty.
