stupid newspapers.
27 Oct 2009 12:46 pmI haven't been particularly worried about the swine flu. I'm not its target demographic except by being young, and although I am not one of those people who never gets colds, I almost never get flus, and besides, I rarely leave the house, which exposes me to very few contagions. But the media's been stupidly panicky about it and I keep reading articles in the newspaper that, while they strongly annoy me, also make me start feeling distinctly hunted. I had to take a Xanax after reading the newspaper today, and then lie down in bed, under the pile of blankets with the cat, counting my breaths for twenty minutes. My stomach is anxiety-upset although I hope I won't be having an anxiety attack attack of acute anxiety now. I'm worried about going to class in a few hours, because I haven't eaten and still feel all jittery.
