Yeah, I remember that I didn't have the patience to listen when the teacher, as a treat, would read Roald Dahl books aloud, one chapter at a time, after lunch in 3rd grade; I borrowed her copies after the first day, read them that afternoon, gave them back to her the next morning, and from then on, read my own book instead. I also had books at naptime, which probably explains my habit of reading in the dark - many people have found that quite disconcerting.
