The Mary Janes are super cute. I'm dodgy on those straps. Hm. Velcro, and thin. Might not be durable. Cute shoe though.

I use my Docs (which I wear all the time, as in, All The Time) as everyday shoes, so I don't mind heaviness. But I've had some really nice shoes get screwed up quick because of a velcro strap that got all battered and curled-up. :(

I actually stopped buying the skechers mary jane-ish styles for exactly that reason -- the Velcro got weird and ceased functioning as designed. :/

(She says, wearing a pair of lace-up skechers, because skechers are my go-to daily casual shoes -- comfy for errands, chasing kid around, walks up to about 2 miles, biking around town. I don't use them for running, longer walks, hiking, etc.)

*thinks* I might stick with Docs then, although I don't find them all equally comfy, of course. (Some of the styles and fits have sizing that doesn't work well with my foot shape.) But I like 'em for everything from work to hiking, generally.

The ruined velcro Mary Janes were Birkenstock ones, and thus heck of expensive for something that looked bad so fast. Ugh!
