well, i miss my beta horribly, but i guess you have to pay a certain price or other for having an almost magically wise one with all kinds of other experience in that that way she's likely to have a life. i just hope she gets the new puppy trained and yadda yadda and comes back to me, because i've already submitted a story to a real place without her, and that was bad enough, but now i can't talk to her about my hypothetical cimverse or about her story, which is currently the only trek slash good enough to satisfy me. thanks to her i've become quite spoiled.

on the other hand, there's a certain cachet in being a beta too, other than k'sal's reciprocal beta--i mean, sure, i'd be fiercely angry if she replaced me, but really, she's the beta in our relationship--and i'm quite proud to be southpaw526's. would be even better if she wrote faster, but it's good for me and all, and fun, and who doesn't like to have a protégé?
