The BB update

cimoreneYesterday was one long panic attack about the BB, mostly spent walking back and forth spying on her every move and calling vet(s) (four different ones). At lunchtime yesterday the vet thought the anti-emetic would start working in under 3 hours and it didn't, so I had a huge panic spiral, but then it did start working a couple hours later, and she ate a number of times last night and finally her little bowels started working again this morning. She ate twice today and is now having a righteous little nap. We're very happy.
She's still extremely stinky. Apparently that's a long-term side effect of chronic kidney disease that has to do with the toxins the kidneys can't manage to break down, so I fear we may be getting used to it. Especially a bummer because up till earlier this week, the BB was the best-smelling cat I ever met. RIP BB's lovely happy sleepy cat smell.
