cimorene111: i totally sympathize, because even though elijah and i never actually have any trouble writing, it's essential, i think, to my character as the best writer of emotion ever born that i'm very vulnerable to other people. i just care SO MUCH that i know exactly what they're going through, often better than they do themselves.
dorkorific: yes. and you know why that is? it's because, i think, you're just BETTER than they are. it's probably a genetic thing. but for every gift there must be a price, and your innate superiority makes you very susceptible to the petty foibles of mankind--it makes you almost too compassionate and wonderful to live. and i really feel the same. sometimes it's just so *difficult*, being so much BETTER than everyone else in the entire universe, isn't it? i tell you how i deal with it: i confide in dom: my principal character, my best friend, my imaginary lover. i keep him chained to my ankle. not, of course, that he would ever get the urge to run away, but just in case some uppity writer who thinks SHE knows how to characterize him tries to get her disgusting lower-class mitts on him. ugh. it's enough to make you vomit, it really is. dom thinks so, too. look, he's nodding his precious little head in agreement.
