chainsaw weather

We're having a dramatic storm with very high wind right now. Fun! Especially because our electrical cables are underground so there's comparatively little risk of them going out. Just a lot of cozy whooshing and hissing noises and things blowing around outside the windows. I love that. Not as much as the sound of a thunderstorm with a tin roof, but still very exciting. In the past we noticed an official traffic advisory that said to definitely take a chainsaw if you go out in your car, and that's probably what it's going to say when this one is over (right now it says go inside, although it's not an order like on the level of a tornado warning... people are still at work). We haven't seen any fallen branches ourselves yet, though our yard is encircled by large trees.

We had one of those last night and it was... "great". (I don't like storms.) At least my tomato which is in the final stages of making the fruit was fine b/c it's up against the corner of my balcony and the solid wall of the building, but unfortunately its owner slept very badly b/c of the constant clatter and roiling outside =_=)

Hm yeah, tomatoes are probably not the kind of thing that would do well out in the yard without protection. There's nothing left to harvest here really though, although I would be sad if the baby berry bushes got damaged.

I also have an actual raspberry bush in a pot on my balcony, but that one is past making berries this year xD
