Remember when I said I accomplished ordering 2 more pairs of skinny jeans last week? Well, they arrived last Friday, only for me to discover that they BOTH HAD FAKE POCKETS! Now, in a sense this is my fault, because that is in the details field of the description, if I'd read it carefully, and I didn't. However, it's really Cubus's fault, because there's no good excuse for fake pockets in jeans. So I had to return them and find some alternatives to try out (and then wait another week).

Speaking of pockets - or at least containers with openings on the top, in this case baskets - the bunny cage is divided down the middle and their litter boxes are against the dividing wall with their hay baskets hanging on the dividing wall just above head height, so they can hang out when they eat hay - they seem to like it best that way.
The thing is that they can pull hay from each other's baskets, through the cage divider, almost as easily as their own baskets - just their own basket of hay is in the way and rather more convenient - but apparently the grass is always greener on the other side, even if it's already dried grass and we're talking about the other side of the cage and not the other side of an enclosure fence. Because while Rowan eats rather impartially from both baskets, Japp nearly refuses to eat from his basket; he almost exclusively eats hay from Rowan's basket, which has to be refilled about four times as often. It makes a racket, too, from the basket jiggling around because he's pulling big tufts of hay from the corner of it, where it's most convenient for him to reach. This doesn't bother Rowan, even when they're eating at the same time, by the way, but I can't see any way this is anything but another dominance move from Chief Inspector Japp. Too-big-for-his-bunny-britches is practically his middle name. He's so dedicated to being a dick to his brother that you kinda have to admire it.
Meanwhile, when they're out of their cages both bunnies vastly prefer to eat the hay directly from the bag the hay comes in, so much so that I stopped storing it out of the way at all and it's now kept in a bucket in their play area to be more convenient for them. So they both probably eat more than half of the hay they consume directly from the bucket, either by jumping into it (Japp) or tipping it over on the floor (Rowan). They persist in thinking they're getting away with something here, like they're 'stealing' the hay. It's exciting being a bunny, obviously.
