That's the problem. If you are going to ignore whatever cannon doesn't agree with the story you want then maybe you aren't writing for the right franchise? That's the main problem I felt with JJTrek. He wanted to be working on Star Wars and felt Trek was the closest he was going to get, at the time.

I haven't watched Discovery but I felt like Enterprise did a pretty good job in it's last season tying up the Klingon look loose end. Then every time anyone else wants to work with Klingons they decide that they need to redesign them. No, you don't. Have them with or without the lobsters on their heads but please stop figuring out *NEW* looks for them, please.
