I was previously a happy user of the popular menstrual tracker app, Clue, which was pretty gender-neutral and not too fertility-focused while storing all its data on the user end. Lately, however, Clue added more paid services and started to pester me more and more often to upgrade, not just with a fee for a paid version, but to a monthly subscription. And then on top of that it stopped working unless you create an online account, so I promptly uninstalled it.

I happened to find a completely not-for-profit, transparent and open-source alternate called drip., which doesn't have any accounts or store user data and doesn't even have a paid version. Unfortunately the interface isn't as customizable, so I can't remove the buttons for fertility-related stuff that I don't want to track (and that kind of gross me out, although I'm on the fence wrt if I should feel bad about that). Still, that's pretty minor. And since it's open source, I could always learn how to code and do it myself.

I don't think you should feel bad about being grossed out by fertility tracking, but I'm actively tokophobic (specifically of pregnancy more so than childbirth), so I recognise my vibe on that is a bit different than some!

I use an app called 'calender' which is as basic as I could find. All it does is let you say which days you have your period and it keeps track and gives you a chart of the last nine or so months so you can look for changes. You can make notes, but it's on a separate page from the calender you mark days on. The app looks like a daisy on a green background. It will show your predicted next period.

I would love to have a 'premenopause tracking' type calendar but no one caters to that crowd.

You could also put in a feature request for customisation options such as removing buttons that don't apply. Looks like they welcome feature requests.

I use something called My Calendar. It's very very pink, but it's not annoying about fertility (you can just keep that option untoggled), and you can track a lot of different "symptoms".

I use a mood tracker called eMoods. It's designed for bipolar, which I thought I was, but I'm not. Anyways, it comes with a period tracker, and for a one-time payment of a few dollars you can add as many custom tracking items as you want. (I paid for it YEARS ago, so I don't remember how much, but it was so cheap and only once.) So I added cramps, migraines, and stuff like that.

Now I only use it for migraines because - no more periods. But it has a nice graph view that really helped me see migraine days against period days. It lets you skip any item you don't want to rate, btw.

** Aaaaaagh! I just looked it up. They have a new version called eMoods Wellness that is v expensive. they added a ton of features and color GUI blah blah. the eMoods Bipolar has a new pricing structure also:

- one month term, In-app purchase title “eMoods Pro Monthly” ($1.99)
- one year term, In-app purchase title “eMoods Pro Yearly ($9.99) terms.
Both options can be canceled at any time.

I know I'm not being billed, but I have it on Android. (aha! Android says I paid $11 for lifetime membership.) the price above is from the Apple app store. I suggest looking at your app store for your device, and not look at their home on the web. Anyways, the basic stuff is free so you can test the interface. The period tracker is just period days, nothing extra.

At the bottom of that page it says "suggesting enhancements" and there's a link to an email address.
