Today's punch list

cimorene-sanded dried visible drips in the coats of primer on the wooden bench and its seat
-washed the sanding dust off with microfiber cloth
-patched the primer just in those spots with a little foam brush
-unscrewed the remainder of a broken latch from the wooden medicine cabinet I finished painting yesterday, but didn't install a magnetic latch for want of the right size screws
-painted the legs of the green stool with liquid furniture wax, and once it was dry turned it over and did the seat
-scrubbed yesterday's paint drips from the kitchen floor with paint thinner and then scraped them off with a metal butter knife
-mounted the smoke alarm in the hall at the top of the stairs on the ceiling (after three years...)
-painted the outside of the Ivar pine cabinet in the bedroom with liquid furniture wax
-added another layer of paint on the giant trim frame Wax built me around the mirror on the upstairs landing
-cooked black beans and then baked them on some nachos with shredded cheese while Wax did all the chopping for pico de gallo
Planned for today but unfinished:
-rehanging the bedroom curtain rod, which I knocked off the wall AGAIN yesterday for the third time since we got them (this shouldn't be so easy to do surely?): this time one of the mounting screws is bent at about 130° so we have to replace it
-installing two glass knobs on the kitchen china hutch: we went to the hardware store yesterday specifically to get a replacement nut, but we haven't installed the knobs because it involves multiple steps (measuring, drilling, sawing the bolt down, installing a locking nut but we might not have the right size of wrench)
