cimoreneIt's very hard to work the day after Snookums has a hypoglycemic episode in the middle of the night. Last night I was up from 2 to 4:30 am with the poor little guy. After I got the correct amount of glucose syrup and wet food into him - laboriously spoon-feeding - his blood sugar didn't rise for half an hour and he violently lost all the food again, disgustingly (not unheard of, but very extreme and unexpected - he usually recovers after those steps). Wax was washing the floor and the door for twenty minutes or so while I started over with the glucose.
He seems a little subdued and under the weather today, understandably. It's overcast and damp, so he'll probably stay in bed all day.
But I have to go to work and I feel half asleep. I almost got six hours of sleep, so it must be worse for Wax, who had to get up two hours earlier and works longer (but at home, at the computer, which probably helps a little). Hopefully I won't see any visitors today, but you can't ever count on that.
Anubis and Tristana, the asshole twins, both separately respond to these events by getting excited and playing, loudly. But separately, of course, because they're the same EXCEPT that Anubis tries to eat her head every time he gets a second's opportunity to escape. So we each get one to keep us up. Tristana calmed down after not too long, but to compensate Snookums still wasn't recovered so I was monitoring him.
