dreamed my family took me to a science fiction convention, and it was in one of those tremendous hotels that are sometimes attached to malls. the con was set up in the mall-stores, mostly, instead of in empty conference rooms in the hotel as they usually are. the book seller, for instance, had a lot of tables in what was generally probably a music store (with tables pushed to the side). and it was a largeish one but for the whole con there was only one (and it took us long enough to find it. >.<) there was a whole shelf of harry potter crap, and another whole shelf of lord of the rings stuff including those little replicas of the one ring. but they didn't have many of the authors that everyone knows, let alone anything new to browse through (which is why i like con booksellers!). it was like, like, books-a-million or something except that it was one huge nightmarish fantasy and sf section and they didn't call it 'sci fi.' in horror we left, and there were mall employees about dressed like a ... giant shark and a giant lobster? (???) and they thought we weren't supposed to be there and chased me and my dad, who was carrying [livejournal.com profile] cuddlepint, halfway through the mall until we hid in the bathrooms.

now back to bed.
