advice to young slash readers?

run the other way at the first sign of an angsty established relationship fic. and in that same vein, oh dear god. because rape is such a deeply affecting topic. go straight for the soul, GRAB your reader's attention! don't stop to collect $200! and for god's sake, don't bother with characterization, man! ::breathes out:: oh fuck, this is embarrassing to read. the main character is neurotic in a way that could conceivably be charming in other circumstances--but i spot it at 100 paces. in someone else, that is. i fear i've sounded like this before...

my red hair is pretty cool, but it was prettier before. oh well. it'll grow out.
