mm. yeah, me too.

i love for songs to have a point beyond, like, 'you cheating bastard, fuck off' or 'love is sad' or 'love is happy'--even if they don't sound too fabulous. like the other day someone said something scornful to me about tori amos thinking she's deep because her lyrics have metaphors and apparently, he thinks the metaphors are facile and childish and sort of put-on, but i think he's wrong. i think she, you know, actually likes metaphors. and i can't blame her. so do i (even if, yes, she uses a lot of that kind of thing) and lots of other people.
