so what i forgot to mention is that
25 Sep 2003 12:43 pmalthough to my knowledge you've never needed a passport to get into canada, they now require either that or a birth certificate--but i'm not positive that's not a requirement of the u.s. anyone who actually knows, feel free to enlighten me. anyway, since i didn't know, i didn't have my passport (expired) or my birth certificate (wtf?) and mom had already left for tuscaloosa (45 min drive!) when i tried and failed to check in.
cue huge panic attack. holls's wedding was THE NEXT DAY. cell phone was out of batteries too; i had to sit on the floor next to the outlet, charging it, sniffling, and hugging seannie's present (a stuffed white tiger almost as big as me). i called my mom, holls, and my adoptive older sister lisa.
then i ended up calling a church friend who doesn't work, and she went to my house, picked up my documents, and drove out to birmingham just for me. instead of the 6:30 am flight getting in at 2 pm, i took the 1 pm flight getting in at eleven pm, and was tortured all day in the airports.
in fort worth i paid for bottled water with quarters and dimes because the damned shops wouldn't take my visa check card (sorry, we only take cash!). ...but all was well, except for some cramps in my foot. and then i met
squirrelmir (eek!) and got a fucking TON of canadian tourist crap including, yes, an UMBRELLA HAT. and a poncho. and a sheet of stickers. (i'm all set for life!) so after midnight, holls turned it round into a good day. :]
and now due south is on in 20 minutes, and i smell lunch, and i hear the baby crying, so... ta!
