close to two years ago, in june and july, i wrote a longish piece based on singin in the rain which is unfortunately entirely pg. i tried to submit it to a couple of actual journals--or maybe it was only one--but then i got depressed and uncertain, and stopped making the effort, and so i've still got it on my hard drive, and i still love this movie so much that i can't stand not to subvert it in this way. looking back on the story, i think it's really not sexy enough. or--something. i'm going to try to revise it, make it more vibrant and exciting. possibly add some more conflict (although the movie is notably short on that). anyone want to look it over with that in mind?
