i'm really excited. this is a really *really* cool grocery store, and i like grocery stores; and i really liked both the interviewers. i felt that we clicked.

so, anyway, wish me luck tomorrow morning, and hopefully no mentions of the word 'bubbly.'

p.s. i finished the revised singin' in the rain threesome fic. it's now 45, not 28 pages. and it's nc-17, and i hope better plotted. (it was originally written, major opus-wise, between delirium and thing--and reflected a few, er, immature stylings accordingly. things that made me wince on the second go round and i changed them.) so--are you absolutely *sure* you don't want to beta it, anyone? i'm going to post it on the internet this time.

i'm sorry, the answering machine usually doesn't do that... and jenny likes to screen out telemarketers, although sometimes if someone's near the phone and has a hand free we'll pick it up. :)

yes. 1954, gene kelly, donald o'connor and debbie reynolds. the greatest musical of all time, regularly tops best *movie* of all time lists, worldwide popular. it's in the comedy section at blockbuster. they probably have it on dvd. :)

it's not like most musicals. it's, well, able to blend in--not like your average one where they're like, 'oh look, a magic carpet ride. let me just happen to express my feelings in song that rhymes that i've composed on the spot. while ranks of bystanders hop up and dance with me.'

LOL that always bugged me so much! makes me feel inadequate, when i can't even come up with a related rhyme on the spot, let alone a whole song... choreographed and everything. aargh.

see, the songs were previously written--they're, like, popular music that the characters already know. the first number is a flashback to when don and cosmo were working in these stupid little comedy/nightclubs, and they had a weird little honky-tonk act with matching suits and violins. tap-dancing while playing the violin, you know. made their money that way for *years,* so later when they dance together, even improvising, it's not surprising or weird; it's clear that they know each other's styles well enough to do that. also they're making a musical movie later, and so some of the songs are just--they show you that they're filming a musical number. of course, the tap-dancing in the 'improvisational' scenes is a bit too well choreographed, but you just buy into it as part of the fantasy and move on. it's really my favorite movie of all time.

i think everyone should. but it's not to all tastes. it's really funny and sweet and, well, really really funny, but it's very light-hearted. some people find it boring. but i've loved it since childhood. i have it mostly memorized.

besides, how will you read my threesome fic when it's done if you haven't seen it? it will make it *so* much better.
