[livejournal.com profile] wolfsage and i did some heavy brainstorming for our sexy epic (tried to make a portmanteau word there, and failed). i'm THIS excited about it. oh boy. oh boy. working title is Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Bad.

plus, she egged me on to write this middle aged!tim roth/gary oldman futurefic wherein tim's and gary's sons start dating and surprise and annoy them, and sort of generally spark some sort of sex. full of warm fuzzies. am ALSO very excited about that, though i haven't started it at all.

and look at my new icon.

don't want to be too mean! i think i'll try to get rid of the wives in the nicest way possible... the fact that i'm getting rid of them is a little mean. but it's all for a good cause. XD

A very good cause, if I may say so.

... perhaps the wives discovered they were lesbians and ran off together to have a pleasant, love-filled life? ::grin::

that's amusing... gary's last wife, donna fiorentino, and nikki butler, tim's wife, are both american fashion designers. a quick google might turn something up.

i always see them more as anime-style closed eyes. come to think of it, my first online fandom was an anime show. probably why i use that one so often.

in anime language, perhaps. but the eyebrow is such an important part of my normal speech. you have to have it in ims. i think i got those from wax though.

just WIFE. gary is divorced as of 2001.

no.

it bothers me. this is why i don't like to re-read, or think about, 'burn,' my sean a/lijah epic.

there's pre-wives fic, but i prefer post-wives future fic. that 'oh, you mean EX wife' thing works for me. no implication they didn't really love one another, just... it's over! i treat them very respectfully, make them cool and sexy, in fic to avoid feeling bad. but it's all, you know, fiction anyway.

i kind of like the idea of an AU where they just don't have any wives, ever, either one.

um.

::fans self too::

and tim, who has petted him in wholly absent-minded innocence, with only slightly ulterior motives, jumps back and is like 'whoa, sorry.' and then gary looks up, all surprised and pleased, and says 'oh, it's you.' and grins *blindingly* and grabs tim in a bear hug!

hum. he was surprised. maybe they're both around for their sons' surprise announcement that they're dating.

oh, i thought that's what you had in mind from the start! i think it would work best with them together. they can glance at eachother meaningfully or look embaressed at the wall or ignore one another in whatever emotion surfaces due to the announcement made by their sons.

i like that. he would not notice that he was growling at time, wouldn't he? n'aw.

right, see, they're together, hanging out pretending they're not madly sublimating this intense, mutual, long-suppressed desire to shag, right.

and their sons call them, separately. you know, the phones ring two secs apart. and they're having parallel conversations.

'you did WHAT?'
'WHAT?'

'that's not what i said.'
'no, i'm sorry, i'm sorry, just a shock.'

'are you sure that's?'
'have you given this a SINGLE THOUGHT?'

right, so, maybe they don't tell them who they're seeing, or something.

so they hang up and glance at one another.

'sorry. gotta go.'
'sorry, i've-- what?'

and then they're like, humm. but their sons are GAY, right? which is fine, but they're talking about co-habiting. or coming out, perhaps. something. and meeting the family in a big Thing. and so this comes later. and they're both thinking, 'god, if only i could stay around tim/gary, instead of dealing with this MESS.'

so they go to yell at their sons and then their sons have arranged this highly gay, like, dads-and-not-moms-but-brothers family lunch, and they've neither of them been to the apartment or whathaveyou before, so gary's sitting there wearing sunglasses dressed strangely fuming, not really because he's homophobic, perhaps, more because he's a bit jealous of his son and thinking about his own lost youth, but he's definitely going to kick and give him cause to say 'i KNEW you'd be weird.'

and then tim comes in and sees him, through the half-wall, from the living room in the kitchen. and comes up and surprises him.

that's one of those things that's delightful in its unlikely-ness. i think that's a really good idea! parallel phone conversations.

do the sons know their dads know eachother? oh, of course they do... they've probably seen eachother from when they've been kids. why don't they tell their dads *who* they're going out with, then? maybe ease it to them gently or something?

i think it would be interesting to have them both see eachother at the same time, though. meet eyes.

From: [identity profile] cimness.livejournal.com
well, i thought at first they would, but if they did, gary wouldn't be surprised to see tim?

what am i saying! he's just reading. and gets surprised. they don't have to go 'what are YOU doing here.' so it could be at gary's house. the Family Homestead. if he even has one in la, i'm just assuming. oh well! fiction!

okay, so they do say it's the other ones. and tim and gary can yelp almost simultaneously and be like, 'WHO?' and they can think it's almost incestuous, but actually, their kids didn't see *that* much of each other; they just feel that way cause they're in loooove, right.

it would be interesting to have them see each other simultaneously, but then you don't have the growl. there's a tradeoff. gary has to be surprised for that to happen.

I like sean a/lij fic. I'm a firm believer in the respectful, let's-part-as-friends break-up of main character + wife.

Besides, it's not like anyone here claims to be writing the truth. We're writing about a fictional Tim Roth and Gary Oldman, based on the real ones. The real people belong to themselves and have their own lives, but the fictional ones are ours and whatever we do with them is our creative/intellectual right. Or something.

In other words, I just want some romance between these two and I'm not going to let real life situations get in the way of that ;)
