you know... fandom is so... cool.

fandom is great. i love fandom.

for a long time i *was* unhappy, and it wasn't just lack of wax, or trying to conform to stupid het preppy girl culture. it was all kinds of things about society and culture, which i feel is a malignant sort of festering thing. and fandom--well, it has its problems but it's a much more nurturing culture--one where bisexuality and sexual fantasy is the expected norm, and it's all pride and gayYAY and snark, and unselfconscious and unashamed value for sex and pretty things, but also lots of intelligence. it's an *ideal* kind of community, y'know? i believe (maybe wrongly, ::shrug::) that it really helped me to realize that life *is* the goal and you have to enjoy it. it's *about* being happy. that's the most important thing. being happy. and content. and i realized that after much angst and nervous breakdowns, but it feels simple now.
