last night i had the highly amusing dream that Long Torso Very Short Legs Manager was not originally a manager, but worked with us because he'd won on a reality tv show.

in the dream, my mom was in the store and got lost or something idiotic and ended up asking him for help (i think she was trying to buy midol), and he gave her directions, and then i had to go back in the store for her and switch it for a different box. 'you know,' i said to her, 'he's not a real manager. he was on The Real World.' in my mind, though, i knew what the show was and it wasn't like RW--more like one of those bachelor or apprentice thingies. mom was incredulous and i said 'that's what someone told me!'

(LTVSLM really does have a long, very long torso and startlingly short legs. he's pretty short, but he has the legs of a really, really, really short guy. also, a large head. but he's got a sort of all-american baby face, and is popular with at least some of the ladies. one of our management candidates, at the store for training, apparently latched onto him like a puppy. ('your assistant who followed you all week like a puppy' were Frat Boy Manager's words. the 'puppy' bit was his interpretation; but the rest was easily observable by anyone and everyone.) (to clarify, that *was* unusual. the management candidates do not usually follow *one* of our 20+ managers the entire week.)

(hey... it's better than a dream of sacking. boy, let me tell YOU, those get monotonous.)

lol. When I worked at Home Depot, I used to have dreams all the time about cashiering and my line would wrap clear around the store and I would be the only cashier. THOSE got monotonous. I always woke up in a bad mood when I had those.

dude, my sacking dreams? are JUST like real sacking. it's a pile of groceries, focusing on putting them in the sacks, and then running the cart out and back in.
